TODAY lands €2.8M seed to automate financial advisers' back office

What's the deal? TODAY, a Copenhagen- and Berlin-based AI startup, has closed a €2.8 million seed round. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Insurtech GatewayDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → co-led, with Seed X, Lucid CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Herbert Rogenhofer, and Tech11Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → founder Pierre Dubosq also investing.

What's the endgame? TODAY builds "compliance-first" AI agents for financial advisers. Its system for financial sales transcribes client meetings, handles routine back-office tasks, coaches advisers, and answers inbound calls.

What's the traction? Advisers using the platform report up to 10% more revenue and save an average of five hours a week on administrative work. Insurers and distributors with more than 3,500 agents already use the product.

Why now? End customers increasingly use AI tools themselves, and pending pension reforms are sharpening competition, pressuring advisers at insurers, banks, and brokerages to digitise. Existing solutions lag the technology and lack industry-specific compliance, a gap TODAY aims to fill.

Co-founders Michael Gackstatter (chief executive officer) and Artem Demchenkov (chief technology officer) previously held leadership roles at fintechs and insurtechs including CLARK, Funding Circle, and Billie. The capital will fund expansion across the DACH region and build out agentic back- and front-office automation.

"Michael and Artem combine valuable experience in scaling financial services companies with outstanding execution skills," said Tizian Hoppen, senior investment manager at HTGF (translated from German). He added that TODAY's vertical AI solution could remove inefficiencies "from the daily lives of financial advisers."

The signal: At roughly $3.1 million, the round sits in the upper tier for seed deals, ranking around the 80th percentile by size. That reflects investor appetite for vertical AI aimed at regulated, document-heavy industries such as financial advice.
