Indonesia's EDGE taps BBCA for $95.1M to fund data center push
What's the deal? PT Indointernet Tbk (EDGE)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and its subsidiary PT Ekagrata Data Gemilang (EDG)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → have secured an additional credit facility of up to US$110.7M (roughly $95.1 million) from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The post-IPO debt facility carries a nine-year tenor and a floating interest rate, adding to credit the company already holds.
What's the endgame? EDGE will use the money for general business needs, including capital expenditure, fiber optic cable expansion, and data center and digital infrastructure projects. The company says the funding is needed as customer demand for data center services rises.
Why now? The deal lands as EDGE's ownership shifts. Following a voluntary tender offer by its controlling shareholder as part of a go-private plan, Digital Edge (Hong Kong) LtdDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → now holds 59.45% and Digital Edge (HK) SPVI Limited holds 33%, leaving public shareholders with 7.55%.
What could go wrong? The company and EDG are pledging assets as collateral, with the value for this and existing facilities recorded at more than 50% of each company's net assets. Drawing on the facility will increase both companies' liabilities.
EDGE classifies the transaction as material because it exceeds 50% of Indointernet's equity, which stood at US$117.9M as of June 30, 2026. It is also an affiliated transaction, since Indointernet controls EDG, and the two provide cross-collateral for their obligations.
The signal: The debt facility reflects how Southeast Asian infrastructure operators are leaning on bank financing — rather than equity — to scale data centers against rising demand. The company says the money strengthens its funding structure and supports cash flow over the short and long term.
