IndusBridge raises $207M to back India's defence sector

What's the deal? IndusBridge VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the private equity firm led by former Citi executive Ravi Kapoor, has raised $207 million for the IndusBridge Fund to invest in India's defence sector, the Economic Times reported. The haul more than doubles the US$135.8M target set when the fund launched in 2025.

Who's backing it? LPs include family offices, high-net-worth individuals, defence companies, and banks. IndusBridge plans to invest in companies whose products serve both domestic and international markets.

Why now? India is pushing for greater indigenisation in defence manufacturing, creating opportunities the firm plans to tap. Kapoor told the ET that defence exports could reach US$6.79B.

The signal: India's defence and aerospace startups are drawing growing investor interest, though funding stays concentrated in early stages.
