Guardrail Technologies raises $3M seed to keep enterprises in control of AI agents

What's the deal? Guardrail TechnologiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an independent AI security and control company, has closed nearly $3 million in seed funding across two rounds. Filter FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Venture Capital led, with participation from angel investors who hold senior backgrounds at major global technology companies.

What's the endgame? Guardrail builds a control layer that lets organizations see, protect, and manage what their AI does. Its pitch targets high-accountability industries where agents now hold passwords, permissions, and the authority to act.

Why now? The round lands as AI shifts from generating answers to taking autonomous actions. "Richard and Filter Fund invested before the market saw the problem," said chief executive officer T.J. Marlin, pointing to issued patents, government validation, and clients on two continents.

Where next? With Australian operations already running, the capital funds expansion into Asia and Europe, plus hiring across the company. Its Traffic Light for Code & AI product has been deemed Awardable in the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office's Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace.

Who's backing it? Filter Fund was founded by Richard Sussman, who has partnered with founders across more than 235 startups collectively valued at over $11 billion. The firm's current fund holds 22 companies spanning AI legal technology, cybersecurity, governance, and medical technology, and is up 60% to date. Sussman serves as executive chairman of Guardrail.

The signal: A seed round under $3 million sits at the smaller end of the venture spectrum, but it tracks a clear market bet: as AI agents gain real-world authority, enterprises will need dedicated tools to keep them in line. "AI is moving too fast for fragmented tools and traditional governance models," Sussman said.
