What does EBO do? Founded and led by chief executive officer Gege Gatt, EBO builds AI-powered patient engagement and workflow automation tools for healthcare organisations. Its technology automates interactions such as appointment management, self-assessments, and patient pathway communications.

Where it operates: EBO sells commercially in Malta, the UK, Italy, and Greece, with 24 live deployments across UK NHS Trusts and hospitals.

Why Olea backed it: Founding and managing partner Harietta Eleftherochorinou said the firm was drawn to EBO's real-world deployments, citing patient adoption rates of up to 97% and customer returns on investment of up to five times.

What's the endgame? The funds will deepen adoption across healthcare systems, extend the technology to new clinical and operational workflows, and finance growth in Europe and the US. Managing partner Lampros Kourtis said EBO's next phase would centre on scaling existing operations.

Olea is expected to help EBO raise UK adoption, strengthen its presence in Southeast Europe, and enter the US, while developing healthcare partnerships and commercial strategy. Gatt called the investment a "vote of confidence" in the company.

"With Olea, we have a partner who understands that healthcare innovation succeeds through trust, evidence and disciplined execution," he said.
