What does Neggst do? Founded in 2021, the company grew out of research by co-founder Dr. Verónica García-Arteaga at Germany's Fraunhofer IVV. It builds egg white, yolk, and encapsulation components separately from sweet potatoes, fava beans, and peas, then combines them into finished products.

Its range — Patty, Poached, Bites, and Scrambled — is sold through foodservice in Germany, Spain, and France. The European patent portfolio covers formulations including egg white, yolk, shell, poached egg, and liquid mixed egg.

Why now? Greenforce signed an agreement to be acquired by LIVEKINDLY Collective on July 1. That transaction remains subject to regulatory approval, and the two companies operate independently until it clears.

What's the endgame? Neggst says the deal gives its egg platform access to the group's manufacturing capacity and international distribution network once the LIVEKINDLY transaction completes. The startup raised €5 million in a 2022 seed round led by Green Generation Fund and reports roughly €7 million in total funding, plus a 2025 ZIM grant and a RentenbankDealroom has a profile for this one. "This acquisition gives Neggst's technology the industrial foundation and global reach it deserves," García-Arteaga said.

The signal: The deal reflects consolidation in a tough plant-based market, where early-stage food-tech firms increasingly seek scale through larger groups rather than going it alone. García-Arteaga framed it as validation: "solving the hardest problem in plant-based food was worth every iteration."
