hpc DUAL buys Binect to build Germany's digital letter platform
What's the deal? hpc DUALDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired BinectDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a German provider of mail-output software, in a deal whose value was not disclosed. The move combines hpc DUAL's expertise in legally compliant digital delivery with Binect's established output-management platform and customer base.
What do they do? hpc DUAL is a specialist in dual digital delivery, with its BriefButler product handling compliant digital dispatch and integration into administrative systems. Binect has served German organisations for more than 20 years, automating and sending documents from specialist applications, with a strong position in public administration and regulated sectors.
What's the endgame? The companies aim to build what they call "the leading platform for digital letter delivery in Germany," linking physical, hybrid, and digital delivery in one system. The goal is to let businesses and public bodies shift from paper to digital gradually, without process risk.
Why now? Digital identities and new European standards are enabling secure, legally binding communication between companies, authorities, and citizens. Meanwhile, paper post faces rising economic and regulatory pressure as demand for secure digital delivery grows.
"Paper letters will not remain the standard in Germany in this form," said Josef Schneider, chief executive officer of hpc DUAL and Binect (translated from German). "Together with Binect, we are building the infrastructure for tomorrow's digital delivery — starting with authorities and companies."
What changes for customers? The combined platform promises delivery options from a single source, spanning document creation, physical and hybrid dispatch, and verifiable, legally compliant digital communication. Binect brings its customer base; hpc DUAL applies its compliance expertise across it.
Frank Wermeyer, former managing director of Binect GmbH, said the tie-up links "proven output-management and dispatch solutions with modern digital delivery," adding: "This keeps us relevant and future-proof" (translated from German).
The signal: The deal reflects consolidation in a market caught between declining physical mail and the rise of regulated digital communication. By merging two specialists, hpc DUAL positions itself as one of the few providers able to serve the full transition — an advantage as public bodies and regulated industries digitise under new European rules.
