What's the endgame? Founded in 2021 by Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds Fincap lends to underserved individuals and MSME borrowers. It offers loans from US$679 to US$13.6K, using a cash-flow-based approach to assess nano enterprises and small businesses that traditional credit scoring often overlooks.
What's the money for? Seeds plans to expand into new markets and strengthen its branch network, technology, and risk management. It is targeting US$135.8M in assets under management (AUM) by March 2027.
Why now? The company says it closed both FY25 and FY26 profitably, disbursing around US$84.2M in FY26. Its AUM stood at US$98M as of August 2026, supported by 164 branches and more than 70,000 active members.
This is Seeds Fincap's third raise in roughly two years. Last year it secured US$6.79M in a round led by Z47 and Lok Capital, following an $8.5 million Series A in July 2024 led by Lok Capital and Matrix Partners IndiaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, now Z47.
The signal: A round of this size sits in the lower tier for Series B deals, reflecting the lean capital needs of early-stage lenders building out branch footprints rather than chasing scale overnight. For Seeds, profitability and portfolio quality — not raw growth — remain the pitch to investors.
