Spineart lands $31.5M debt facility led by UBS Switzerland

What's the deal? Swiss medtech company Spineart has refinanced and upsized its syndicated credit facilities, raising US$45.8M from a syndicate of lenders led by UBS Switzerland. UBS acted as mandated lead arranger, agent, and security agent. Law firm Niederer Kraft Frey (NKF)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → advised Spineart on the deal.

What's the endgame? Spineart develops advanced spine surgery solutions and is headquartered in Switzerland, with subsidiaries in the US, Spain, and France. It works with surgeons and hospitals in over 60 countries to support the adoption of its spine technologies.

Why now? The refinancing coincides with Spineart's announcement that its Baguera C cervical disc has received FDA approval for one and two contiguous levels, expanding access in the US market.

The signal: Debt financing of this size is rare in the space — the facility ranks in the 97th percentile among all-time debt rounds for Swiss deep tech companies, based on a sample of 115 deals. The upsized facility signals lender confidence as Spineart moves to scale in the US on the back of fresh regulatory clearance.
