Bee People raises $1.6 million seed to expand propolis line into Germany

What's the deal? Bee PeopleDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a St. Moritz startup making dietary-supplement capsules and organic propolis and honey products, has closed a US$1.19M (roughly $1.6 million) seed round. The capital will fund research and development, sales expansion, and international growth.

What does it make? Founded in 2024, Bee People extracts a clinically tested propolis using a patented process, then combines it with honey to improve how the body absorbs the active compounds. It says the products support the immune system and gut health.

Why now? Since launching about a year ago, Bee People has built a presence in Swiss pharmacies, drugstores, specialist retail, and e-commerce, and it is already active in Asia. It now plans to enter Germany in September 2026 through its own online store, with further European and Asian markets to follow.

Who's backing it? Investors include several Swiss entrepreneurs, doctors and healthcare professionals, and figures relevant to the company's Asia expansion. Commitments exceeded the target by more than 30%.

The founders' track record: Bee People is led by Marie So and Daniel Meyer, who previously built Swiss e-mobility company EGO MovementDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, scaled it internationally, and sold it to India's TVS Motor GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Several EGO Movement investors are backing the pair again.

"Several investors supporting us for a second time is a strong sign of trust. They know how we work and our ambition to build companies for the long term and internationally," So and Meyer said (translated from German).

The signal: The founders argue propolis is already sold across Switzerland, Austria, and Germany but often lacks consistent quality standards and scientific grounding. Their bet is that research-backed products and Swiss quality can differentiate a fragmented category — with a repeat backing from EGO Movement's investors underwriting the wager.
