Growers Edge sees 94% renewal on 2027 ag financing program
What's the deal? Growers Edge, a financial technology firm serving agricultural retailers, manufacturers, and lenders, has launched its 2027 Input Financing Program for ag retailers. The program, which opened on September 1, 2026, has achieved a 94% partner renewal rate, according to the company.
How it works: The program lets ag retailers offer branded, customised financing to their grower customers while removing default risk. It provides cost-competitive capital plus back-office services including credit decisioning, funding, loan management, billing, and collection.
Why now? High interest rates, persistent inflation, and rising input costs are squeezing grower margins. Growers Edge frames its program as filling a gap left by conventional agricultural credit.
"Traditional ag-credit options are no longer enough given the trifecta of high input costs, high interest rates, and high volatility," said Michael Hoffstatter, managing director of input financing at Growers Edge.
The details: Retailers get a branded grower portal for loan management and payments, no recourse, built-in credit scoring, and SOC 2 data security. The company says a program can be running in two weeks.
What partners say: "Working with Growers Edge gave us a finance option that could be all our own and have our brand on it," said Sheldon Daugherty, owner and president of River Hills Seed, Inc.Dealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: As margin pressure builds across US farming, financing is emerging as a competitive tool for ag retailers rather than a back-office afterthought. A near-total renewal rate suggests demand for embedded, retailer-branded credit is holding as input costs stay elevated.
