Pakajo raises €1.2M to build out cross-border shipping platform

What's the deal? PakajoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Norderstedt-based logistics tech company, has raised €1.2 million ($1.36 million) in a pre-Series A round from Companisto's business angel networkDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. It is the second time the company has secured funding through Companisto.

What does it do? Pakajo runs a digital platform for package shipping by e-commerce retailers. It combines price comparison, shipping processing, label creation, customs procedures, tracking, and returns into a single interface, letting retailers ship to more than 250 destinations worldwide.

More than 1,600 business customers have shipped over 1.6 million packages via the platform, according to the company. A proprietary customs engine handles parts of the clearance process, while local carriers are combined with consolidated international shipments rather than a single global network.

What's the endgame? Pakajo plans to use the capital to develop its platform, expand sales, and open additional international routes. Connections between the US and Europe are a key focus.

Why now? During the round, the company shipped from the US to Europe for the first time, working with an existing US partner. It has also added an automated shipping solution for the German market and a fully customs-cleared service for Switzerland.

The signal: Pakajo is betting on transatlantic trade as a growth market, targeting small and medium-sized retailers for whom cross-border shipping means higher costs and added customs requirements. By stitching together local carriers, it aims to cut that complexity without building its own global logistics network.
