London's Skwky raises pre-seed for AI conflict mediation in schools
What's the deal? London-based SkwkyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed a pre-seed SEIS funding round with what it says was 100% participation from City of London investment professionals. The startup, founded by father-and-son team Chris and Jai Twyman, bills itself as the first AI tool built to mediate real-time conflict between two or more people.
What's the endgame? Skwky's platform is trained on restorative principles, emotional scoring, and conflict resolution techniques. Its initial focus is helping educators manage conflict inside and outside the classroom.
Why now? Schools remain wary of bringing AI into the classroom. "Educators are nervous of implementing AI in the classroom, for obvious reasons," said Chris Twyman, who previously built and exited EdTech writing platform BoomWriterDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. He said the tool is focused on "safety and support for young people in conflict."
The company frames data protection as central to its pitch. "Skwky is building a tool that starts with safeguarding the users and their data," said Jai Twyman.
The signal: As AI floods education, Skwky is betting that a narrow, safety-first use case can stand out. As one incoming investor put it, "There is so much AI noise out there, but Skwky offers a clear value proposition and a huge market opportunity. It isn't AI for AI's sake."
