ITC takes full control of Yoga Bar in $67M deal

What's the deal? ITC has acquired the remaining shares in Sproutlife Foods, maker of the Yoga Bar brand, taking its stake to 100%. The Indian conglomerate paid roughly US$87.6M in cash, making Sproutlife a wholly owned subsidiary.

Why now? The final tranche — 13,445 equity shares — was acquired on September 28, 2026, completing a staged buyout. ITC had held a partial stake before moving to full ownership.

What each side brings: ITC is one of India's largest conglomerates, spanning fast-moving consumer goods, hotels, and paper. Sproutlife sells packaged health foods under the Yoga Bar label, positioned in the "innovative food products" category.

By the numbers: Sproutlife's turnover has climbed sharply, from US$14.7M in FY24 to US$27.2M in FY25 and US$61.4M in FY26 — more than doubling year on year. That growth trajectory underpins the rationale for full ownership.

What's the endgame? Absorbing a fast-growing health-food brand extends ITC's packaged-foods portfolio into a category built around wellness and convenience. Full control lets it fold Yoga Bar into its wider distribution and branding machinery.

The signal: India's large FMCG players are buying growth in the health-food segment rather than building it in-house. ITC's move to consolidate a brand it already backed shows how conglomerates are betting on premium, wellness-oriented food as consumer tastes shift.
