AI startup Instinct raises $1B Series C at $10B valuation
What's the deal? Artificial intelligence company Instinct has raised $1 billion in a Series C round at US$6.47B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Coatue, the company said in September 2026.
In their words: "We're building Instinct to be the best personal agent that can handle the deeply personal nuances of everyday life," said Noah Shinn, founder of Instinct. "This funding helps us bring Instinct to more people and continue building the future of personal AI."
What's new: Still in early access, Instinct has shipped several product updates in recent months: Instinct Concierge, a white-glove service for high-touch tasks such as phone calls and hard-to-book reservations; a Trusted Person Network that lets users' Instinct assistants coordinate directly with each other and share files; location-aware suggestions on iMessage; and privacy features including isolated sandboxes, short-lived local credentials, identity-signed tool execution, and a system for catching hallucinations before they reach a response.
The context: The deal ranks among the largest of its kind. It sits in the 99th percentile of all Series C rounds in the US enterprise software sector, a sample of 1,750 deals.
The signal: Billion-dollar rounds at 10-figure valuations remain concentrated among a small band of AI companies, and Instinct's raise adds to that pattern — investors continuing to write outsized cheques for the sector.
