Aviva Investors launches short duration credit fund with $230M seed
What's the deal? Aviva InvestorsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched the Short Duration Global Credit fund, seeded with $230 million from its multi-asset team. Senior portfolio manager Justine Vroman will run the strategy.
Why now? Aviva said it developed the fund in response to demand for fixed income products that support income generation, capital preservation, and portfolio resilience amid market uncertainty. Fraser Lundie, global head of fixed income, said "the current environment has strengthened the case for short duration credit."
What's the endgame? The strategy pairs a high-quality investment-grade core with flexibility to allocate selectively across government bonds, asset-backed securities, high yield bonds, and emerging markets. It aims to help investors "put lower-risk fixed income allocations to work more efficiently," Lundie said.
The signal: The fund is the fourth recent addition to Aviva Investors' fixed income range, following Global Hybrid Bond, Senior ABS Income, and Global Unconstrained Credit — a sign the firm is building out its credit lineup as investors seek lower-risk income in an uncertain market.
