Solo-built AI design tool slicer.dev raises €100,000 pre-seed

What's the deal? Lithuanian startup slicer.dev has raised €100,000 (≈$113,763) in a pre-seed round led by venture fund Firstpick, with Lost Astronaut also taking part. It is the company's first outside investment.

What does it do? Slicer.dev helps users find design examples and run automated UX audits: submit a page URL, and AI agents analyse it, assess the user experience, and flag specific problems. The startup also plans to add competitor-monitoring and suggestions on what to change.

Why now? Founder and chief executive officer Daumantas Banys has built the tool alone using AI programming tools. As the product grows, he plans to assemble a small product and technology team.

What's the endgame? Banys wants to widen access to design expertise that once sat only with large teams. "I want slicer.dev to become a tool for everyone — to help understand what works, what needs improving, and what's worth building next," he said (translated from Lithuanian).

The first version was built during a three-week basedcollective hackathon as a browser extension that turns website elements into AI prompts for recreating them. Banys previously spent seven years at Vinted in product design and program management. According to the company, designers from Clay, Airtable, Okta, Vinted, Hostinger, and Holo have already used the tool.

The signal: The round sits in the bottom fifth for size, at the 9th percentile — a modest cheque that reflects its solo-founder stage. Investors frame it as a template for a broader shift.
