Flatkey raises $10M Series A after 10,000 developers sign up in two months
What's the deal? FlatkeyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a San Jose-based AI infrastructure platform, has raised $10 million in Series A funding alongside Realset AI. The company gives developers access to more than 100 official AI models and over 1,000 tools through a single API key and one balance.
Why now? Flatkey said more than 10,000 developers adopted the platform in the two months since its July 2026 launch. The round will fund new models, more tools, and the infrastructure that routes developer traffic to them.
What's the endgame? Flatkey routes every call to a provider's official endpoint and buys upstream capacity in volume. Most models are priced at around 80% of providers' official list prices, with some at 60% or lower under promotions.
The pitch is convergence. A production app today rarely relies on one model, combining several across text, image, audio, and video, plus tools such as search and browsing. A team drawing on OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and DeepSeek, plus a video model and search, would normally juggle seven or more provider relationships; Flatkey collapses that into one key, one balance, and one invoice.
What developers get: Official models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, and others, plus image and video models. Subscription plans start at $10 per month, with pay-as-you-go credits covering both models and tools on one balance. Migration is a single line: developers change the base URL, and existing OpenAI-compatible code works.
"AI development is becoming less about choosing one model and more about combining models, data and tools across text, image, audio and video," said founder Hunter Guo. "If developers can reach all of that through one key, the platform stops being a convenience layer and starts to look like infrastructure."
The signal: As AI shifts from answering questions to completing work, the models, tools, and data behind agents keep fragmenting across providers. Flatkey's bet is that they converge into a single layer — and that developers will pay for one key over managing many.
