What's the endgame? Founded earlier this year by Akshay Mehta, Demoverse is building a platform where brands invite their communities to help design products, rather than just gather feedback after launch. "Brands will float a concept to their community, and the community will then co-create on top of it," Mehta said.

The startup pairs AI-generated designs with human preferences to spot concepts with stronger consumer validation, aiming to cut uncertainty around product development and inventory. It runs a B2B2C model and has completed around seven closed trials with brands in India, including beauty platform Purplle.

Where's the money going? Demoverse plans to use the capital to build its design community, strengthen its consumer app, and expand into the US market.

Revenue will come from three streams: campaign fees paid by brands, commerce, and paid participation from its most active users in larger design challenges. Fashion is the initial focus, with plans to move into beauty, cosmetics, interiors, and eventually physical products like automobiles and buildings.

Why now? India's consumer co-creation space is forming at the intersection of D2C, community-led commerce, the creator economy, and product innovation.
