Eye-disease cell therapy startup Jishitongguang raises tens of millions of yuan

What's the deal? Jishitongguang Pharmaceutical TechnologyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a developer of cell therapies for eye diseases, has raised tens of millions of yuan in a Pre-A round. Fuzhi Investment backed the round, which was announced in September 2026.

What's the endgame? The company runs several research pipelines. Its lead project uses unique, youthful RPE cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to treat dry retinal degeneration through cell transplantation.

Why it matters: In animal models, that lead therapy showed efficacy clearly better than other reported RPE cell approaches, according to the company.

The signal: Investor interest in iPSC-derived cell therapies continues to build, with early funding flowing to startups targeting retinal disease — a field with few effective treatments today.
