What's the endgame? Rather than building another AI assistant, Palma.ai is developing an intermediary layer that routes agent-to-tool requests. Its platform assigns users and agents a governed connector holding the tools and "Skills" they are authorized to use, then evaluates policies when an agent tries to act.
Why now? Enterprises are shifting from AI that generates content to agents that take actions inside corporate systems. Connected agents might update a customer record, query a database, or trigger workflows on an employee's behalf — raising security stakes beyond those of first-generation chatbots.
Much of that capability runs through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard now governed by the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation. MCP handles interoperability but does not by itself set organization-level controls over what each agent can do. Palma.ai targets that gap.
How it works: The system evaluates the arguments inside individual requests, letting organizations allow, deny, rate-limit, or require approval for a call before it reaches the underlying system. An agent might, for instance, only run transactions below a set threshold, or pause until a human approves. An observation mode lets administrators test policies against real traffic before enforcing them.

Try Dealroom →, and other MCP-compatible tools, so permissions follow a user even as companies switch models. It integrates with existing identity infrastructure rather than replacing it. The funding will expand its engineering and go-to-market teams as it targets larger organizations.
Investor as customer: D11Z and Plug and Play already deploy Palma.ai internally, using it to give employees agents that access enterprise tools without configuring permissions for every application.
The signal: As enterprises adopt several AI systems at once rather than standardizing on one provider, control is moving closer to the point where an agent actually acts. Palma.ai's raise sits in the upper range for pre-seed deals, a sign investors see governance as the next frontier of agentic AI.
