What's the endgame? Noxtua's technology covers the full legal-writing workflow — research, analysis, and document drafting — through jurisdiction-specific Legal AI Workspaces built on curated data from European legal publishers. Founder and chief executive officer Leif-Nissen Lundbæk says the company aims to become "the largest European Legal AI."

By the numbers: Noxtua now has more than 30,000 users, around 100 employees, and six locations across Europe. Lundbæk said the company has "quadrupled" its business in the past 12 months.

Why now? The round reshapes Noxtua's investor base as it pivots toward closer ties with publishers. C.H.BECK, which led the 2025 Series B, becomes majority shareholder; MANZ joins as a new investor. C.H.BECK's beck-onlineDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is the most extensive legal database in the German-speaking world, holding more than 60,000,000 legal documents. "We believe that we can make our content a success in the AI market with Noxtua's technology," said Klaus Weber, a member of the executive board at C.H.BECK, adding that a qualified majority was important to link its product strategy to the platform.

What could go wrong? Concentrated ownership carries risks. Weber noted the publisher's tradition of preserving portfolio companies' independence: "We plan to work very closely with Noxtua, even tying our product strategy to their platform. Therefore, it is in our own interest that Noxtua will be successful; and to become successful, Noxtua needs freedom and flexibility."

MANZ, which has run a joint workspace with Noxtua since 2025, framed its bet on the startup's approach. "We appreciate that Noxtua doesn't have this 'move fast and break things' mentality but is interested in sustainable long-term success," said managing partner Susanne Stein-Pressl.

The signal: The round ranks in the top 3% of all Series C deals in German legal tech, underscoring the sector's momentum as it competes with US rivals. Noxtua's strategy — pairing AI with publishers' curated content rather than chasing scale alone — bets that trusted legal data, not just models, will decide who wins the European market.
