Tatiana Shalalvand joins Cherry Ventures as Partner to lead Nordic investing
What's the deal? Tatiana ShalalvandDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, most recently Investment Director leading Kinnevik’s early-stage strategy, has joined Cherry Ventures as a Partner based in Stockholm. Cherry says she began her career in crisis management, moved into commercial leadership roles at scale-up tech companies, spent four years at Inventure backing pre-seed and seed startups across the Nordics, and was an early backer and board member at Tandem Health, which recently raised a $100m Series B. She joins Cherry’s existing Stockholm-based partner, giving the firm two partners on the ground in the region.
Why it matters: The hire deepens Cherry’s bet on the Nordics as the region it believes will produce Europe’s first trillion-dollar company, a thesis Shalalvand shares publicly. It adds an Operator-DNA partner with founder networks across the region at a moment when Cherry has fresh capital after its ~$500M raise, structured as ~$350M for early-stage leads plus an opportunity fund to double down on winners. The firm says four of its portfolio companies crossed billion-dollar valuations in recent months, with nearly $1bn raised across those rounds combined.
