Harvey snaps up Aida in its fifth acquisition of 2026

What's the deal? Legal AI company Harvey has acquired Aida, an AI-native sales execution platform, for an undisclosed sum. It is Harvey's fifth acquisition of 2026, following purchases of Guardails in September and Benchmark in July.

Who's joining? Aida's co-founders — GleanDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → co-founder Piyush Prahladka and Atish Das Sarma — will join Harvey's product and engineering organisation alongside their team of search and machine learning engineers. Das Sarma previously led engineering, data science, and growth teams at Patreon, Apple, and X.

What's the endgame? Harvey said the deal accelerates its product roadmap, specifically its work helping each firm build its own ontology. "Legal teams have decades of valuable knowledge locked away in documents and systems that are difficult to search and connect," chief executive officer Winston Weinberg said. "Unlocking that knowledge securely will fundamentally change how they work."

Why now? The purchase fits a wider 2026 consolidation push in legal AI, as leading platforms buy capabilities and talent rather than build everything in-house. By August, industry reporting counted at least three Harvey acquisitions and five by rival Legora.

What Aida brings: Co-founder Prahladka said the company was founded on the belief that AI could "connect information across fragmented systems, and turn that knowledge into action." Notably, Harvey is not buying traditional legal tech companies but enterprise AI teams.

The signal: The sector is exceptionally well funded — Harvey raised $200 million at an $11 billion valuation in March, then $550 million at $15.5 billion in September. That capital is now fuelling a race to broaden legal-workflow platforms through acquisition, with talent and context, rather than features alone, as the prize.
