YNOS raises $220K from Gyan Circle Ventures to expand startup analytics platform
What's the deal? YNOS Venture EngineDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an IIT Madras-incubated startup analytics platform, has raised US$287.9K in an early-stage round from Gyan Circle Ventures, a Category-I Venture Capital Fund. The company said the money will broaden its technological capabilities and extend its reach.
What's the endgame? YNOS runs a database covering India's startup ecosystem — founders, incubators, angel investors, VCs, corporates, government agencies, and banks. It gives users tools to estimate valuation, identify investors, and analyse competition.
Why it matters: As of September 2026, the platform covered 342,388 startups, 592,999 founders, 14,667 angel investors, 6,310 VCs, 1,458 incubators, 137 government schemes, and 1,096 banks and financial institutions. More than 875 startups have used YNOS in fundraising, raising a combined US$543.2M.
What they said: "YNOS was built on the premise that entrepreneurship thrives when founders have access to credible, research-backed intelligence rather than fragmented information," said Thillai Rajan A., a professor at IIT Madras and founder of YNOS. He added the investment allows the platform "to widen that reach and deepen our relevance to a much larger constituency of entrepreneurs."
The backstory: YNOS evolved from research at the Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST), a research centre at IIT Madras. It is housed at the IITM Research Park and was incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell.
The signal: As India's startup ecosystem grows, demand rises for structured, research-backed data to guide founders and investors. YNOS's round signals appetite for analytics tools that cut through fragmented information in an increasingly crowded market.
