What's the deal? North Sky CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has led a Series A investment in OBE PowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an owner and operator of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The Minneapolis-based impact investor announced the deal in September 2026.
What does OBE do? The company deploys, owns, operates and manages EV charging for property owners and institutional partners. That lets hosts offer charging without heavy capital spending or operational complexity.
What's the endgame? The money will fund OBE's expansion across the US and Canada, targeting multifamily, hospitality, healthcare and other destination properties. Its platform bundles deployment, network operations, maintenance, driver support and carbon credit management.
Why now? North Sky says EV adoption is outpacing the build-out of charging stations. "As the number of electric vehicles on U.S. roads continues to climb, EV adoption has outpaced the build-out of charging stations," said Lucy Fan, principal on the firm's sustainable infrastructure team.
North Sky spent years studying the sector before committing. "OBE Power presents a compelling and well-structured expansion opportunity in the market," said managing director Adam Bernstein, pointing to its fully owned model and management team.
The signal: In its 26th year, North Sky has deployed more than $1.7 billion across roughly 200 impact investments. Backing a fully owned charging operator signals infrastructure investors see the charging gap — not vehicles — as the next constraint on EV growth.
