Inverness Graham buys majority stake in water management platform VivoAquatics

What's the deal? Philadelphia-based private investment firm Inverness GrahamDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a majority stake in VivoAquatics, a technology-enabled water management platform serving commercial customers. Terms were not disclosed. It marks the fifth platform investment in Inverness Graham's Green Light strategy.

What each company does: Founded in 2014, VivoAquatics combines connected hardware with software powered by AI-driven analytics through its VivoPoint platform. It serves large hospitality, fitness, municipal, and multi-family real estate organisations, covering water safety monitoring, leak detection, water usage, and compliance management.

The rationale: Inverness Graham wants to expand VivoAquatics' market coverage and breadth of offerings. "VivoAquatics and its VivoPoint platform use industry-leading data with predictive service and maintenance delivery to help ensure water quality at scale while reducing energy and treatment costs," said managing partner Michael Morrissey.

What changes: VivoAquatics keeps its leadership. Chief executive officer Willan Johnson framed the deal as "an exciting new chapter," pointing to Inverness Graham's "operational depth and experience in scaling technology-enabled businesses."

Why now? Commercial operators face mounting pressure to run water systems efficiently, conserve water, and maintain compliance records while controlling costs. Johnson said customers are "under real pressure" on all three fronts.

The signal: Green Light, Inverness Graham's lower middle market strategy, closed in 2024 at $238 million and has completed nine investments across five platforms, with one exit so far. The firm, which manages more than $1.8 billion in assets, is betting that technology can turn resource efficiency into returns in traditionally overlooked corners of the economy.
