Metris Energy raises $5M seed to unify fragmented energy data

What's the deal? Metris Energy, a London-based startup building an AI-native platform for managing energy assets, has raised a $5 million seed round. PT1 VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? Founder and chief executive officer Natasha Jones wants Metris to become the unified data layer for the entire energy sector. The company started by reconciling solar portfolio data scattered across inverters, meters, SCADA systems, spreadsheets, and finance tools into one record.

Why now? Jones argues asset owners lack a single layer to see and act on their portfolios — a gap widening as portfolios mix solar, wind, storage, and flexible demand. "Energy asset data lives in many places and none of them agree," she said.

The product: The funding lands alongside the launch of Metria AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an interface designed, in Jones's words, to "seamlessly execute complex tasks previously carried out manually by operations teams." The name blends "Metris" — Latin for "to measure" — with IA, the European abbreviation for AI.

Jones has also been expanding into Germany, which she notes has more distributed solar than any other European market, most of it still managed in spreadsheets.

The signal: At $5 million, the seed round sits in the top 5% of seed deals for UK real estate startups on record. The bet: automating the "unglamorous work" of stitching together hundreds of vendor integrations is where the value lies as AI agents move into energy operations.
