Delos raises €10M to bring its autonomous "AI employees" to the US
What's the deal? French startup Delos has raised €10 million ($11.5 million) in a Series A round led by Bpifrance, C4 VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. The company builds autonomous "AI employees" that handle complex business tasks — from sales prospecting to back-office work — and plans to use the funds to expand in France and the US.
What's the endgame? Founded three years ago, Delos began with an office software platform before pivoting to virtual colleagues. Each "worker" gets a name, a role, an email address, a phone number, a cloud computer, and long-term memory, and can plan and complete missions without constant human supervision.
By the numbers: The round follows a €2.5 million seed led by 20VCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → in April 2025. Delos says recurring revenue doubled from €2.5 million to €5 million in a single quarter, with a product just four months old. Why now? Delos wants "to keep a step ahead," said co-founder and chief executive officer Pierre de la Grand'rive (translated from French). It will hire sales teams to deploy its AI workers abroad, targeting the US first. "When you want to create a leader in autonomous agents, you inevitably look at the US," he said, adding that the company has already signed two contracts there with tech references.
What's next? Delos plans to add specialisations to its workers, including data analysts and management controllers, and eventually full teams of AI employees. The firm, which employs 40 people and 30 AI workers, argues the shift turns every human employee into a manager of virtual staff.
The signal: The round sits in the top third of comparable deals by size, a marker of investor appetite for agentic AI. Delos is betting that "digital colleagues" move from novelty to norm within three years — a wager on hybrid org charts becoming standard as companies chase roles they cannot fill.
