Finland's Eventilla buys networking platform Tavata to cover the full event lifecycle
What's the deal? Finnish event management company EventillaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired TavataDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a networking and matchmaking platform for live, hybrid, and virtual events. Terms were not disclosed. Tavata becomes a wholly owned subsidiary but keeps its own brand, product, and paid staff.
What each company does: Eventilla, founded in 2010, runs an ISO/IEC 27001-certified, GDPR-compliant, white-label platform for events and training, employing around 15 people. Tavata, founded in 2018, connects attendees and keeps networks alive after events. Its users include cities, tourism operators, and B2B event organisers.
What's the endgame? Eventilla wants to offer a single solution covering the entire event lifecycle, from invitations and registrations to on-site networking. The two systems stay separate but work closely together under one provider.
Why now? With remote work widespread, the value of real-life meetings has risen, the company said. Until now, organisers have often had to buy tools from several vendors — registrations from one, networking from another.
What changes: Tavata gains access to Eventilla's wider development and support resources, which the company says will speed up the platform's development. "Eventilla brings participants to the event, and Tavata gets them to meet," said Eventilla chief executive officer Pekka Huttunen (translated from Finnish).
Founder Jari Puranen said he was handing the product "to a home where it can grow further than we would have taken it ourselves" (translated from Finnish).
The signal: The deal reflects consolidation in event technology, as buyers move to fold point tools into single platforms. For customers, that means one ecosystem from one vendor rather than a patchwork of suppliers.
