Cypher Capital launches regulated Cayman fund for round-the-clock digital markets

What's the deal? Cypher CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched the Cypher Digital Fund, a Cayman Islands vehicle targeting digital markets and registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The open-ended mutual fund is structured as an exempted company and aimed at professional, institutional, and other qualified investors rather than retail buyers.

The structure: The fund is managed by Cypher Capital (BVI) LimitedDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an approved investment manager, and registered under section 4(3) of the Mutual Funds Act. It invests across crypto assets, tokenised real-world assets, prediction markets, and on-chain credit.

How it invests: The strategy splits into three areas managed under a single risk framework. A market-neutral strategy seeks structural yield with limited directional exposure; systematic strategies target momentum and relative value across venues; and a thematic strategy takes event-driven positions.

Why now? Chief executive officer Arash Saidi said most institutional structures were never built for markets that trade continuously. "The Cypher Digital Fund closes the gap – a regulated, governed vehicle purpose-built for a market that never closes," he said.

What's the endgame? The fund began trading with Cypher Capital's proprietary capital in April before opening to outside investors, so the strategy was tested using the firm's own money. Founder and chair Bijan Alizadehfard framed it as a shift from proprietary activity into a structure for outsiders.

"Everything we have built since 2022 started with our own conviction and our own capital," Alizadehfard said. "The Cypher Digital Fund brings that conviction into an institutional structure – governed, audited and regulated – so that investors who share our view of where markets are going can access it properly."

The backstory: Cypher Capital was established in 2022 and has invested across digital assets, AI infrastructure, and private equity. Its earlier pilot venture fund made more than 120 investments, according to the company.

The signal: Chief investment officer Kim Wong said the fund answers a shift in how digital markets operate. "In June we argued that the market had already moved – that price discovery now happens around the clock, on venues most institutions still cannot reach," he said. "We built the vehicle we said the market was missing."
