Qianming Semiconductor raises ~$15M Series B for chip-testing gear

What does it do? Qianming develops testing and handling equipment for the semiconductor industry, all built on fully in-house intellectual property. Its lineup includes test-and-sorting machines for memory, SoC, and MCU chips, plus burn-in testers, automated optical inspection (AOI) systems, and automatic packaging machines.

What's the endgame? The company targets storage products spanning embedded storage, mobile storage, solid-state drives, and memory modules, alongside 5G SoC and MCU lines. It positions itself as a one-stop provider of storage solutions and customised testing services.

The signal: Backing from state-linked and regional investors such as Suzhou Venture Group underscores China's continued push to localise semiconductor supply chains, including the test and measurement tools that sit behind chip production.
