Cymphony launches with $30M seed to secure enterprise AI agents

What's the deal? CymphonyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AI governance and security startup, launched with $30 million in seed funding co-led by Sequoia Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund. The platform gives security teams a unified view of how employees and AI agents access sensitive enterprise data. It was founded by Shy Dekel, Idan Berkovits, and Edi Gotlieb.

Why now? AI agents now access company systems, interact with sensitive data, and take autonomous actions daily — often reaching far beyond what individual employees can. The 2026 Microsoft Work Trend Index describes organizations entering an era of "human-agent teams," while GartnerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → names governance and security as among the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption.

What's the endgame? Cymphony continuously maps every AI agent and employee across an organization, showing what systems they access and how their activity creates risk. By combining SaaS, AI, data, and identity signals into a single graph, it prioritizes the most important risks and automates or coordinates remediation.

Who's building it? The three founders are graduates of Israel's Talpiot Program and veterans of Israeli defense and intelligence. Dekel, the chief executive officer, spent nearly six years in Unit 8200, rising to head of the cyber department. Gotlieb, the chief technology officer, brings hardware engineering experience from Apple, while Berkovits, the chief product officer, managed a research group in the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel.

What could go wrong? A separate Gartner forecast predicts 40% of enterprises will demote or decommission autonomous AI agents by 2027 after governance gaps emerge in production — a sign the market Cymphony targets is still unproven.

"The security industry keeps treating AI as another application to secure, but that's the wrong model to use," said Dekel. "AI agents are becoming active participants in the business."

The signal: At $30 million, Cymphony's seed ranks in the 99th percentile of comparable rounds in its industry and country, among 3,182 all-time deals. As Sequoia partner Bogomil Balkansky put it, companies "that provide visibility and control over that new workforce have the opportunity to become foundational platforms."
