Strathberry lands Soho Square backing at £100M valuation, plans first New York store

What's the deal? Scottish luxury leather brand Strathberry has secured growth investment from Soho Square CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to fund its next phase of international expansion, with a focus on North America. The Edinburgh-based firm, founded 13 years ago, didn't disclose the amount or the size of the stake taken.

Sky News reported last month that the deal — a "significant minority stake" — would value the company close to £100 million.

Why now? The round follows a strong stretch of growth. Strathberry reported revenues of £50.5 million in FY26, a 39% year-on-year rise, and a 43% compound annual growth rate over the past three years.

Who's in charge? Founders Guy and Leeanne Hundleby will retain control, supported by managing director Martin Byrne and the senior team. David Steel, director at Soho Square Capital, joins the board.

The investment marks Strathberry's second funding round, following a 2022 to 2026 partnership with BGFDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, during which revenues rose more than five-fold. "Strathberry has achieved exceptional growth during our partnership," said John Devine, investor at BGF.

What's the endgame? The founders said the deal opens "an incredibly exciting chapter," letting them "accelerate that vision and invest in the next phase of our growth." Strathberry plans two new stores next year: one in London and its first international location in New York.

North America is already Strathberry's largest market, making the US the natural first step in its physical store expansion. The brand also cites strong demand across APAC and GCC markets, plus newer regions including Australia and Germany.

The signal: Steel argued Strathberry's "high-end quality at accessible prices" ethos is "resonating with shoppers disillusioned with top luxury houses" — a positioning that stands out as demand at the top of the luxury market softens.
