Terrain raises $1.8M at a premium to fund Mid West gold drilling

What's the deal? Terrain ResourcesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised a combined A$2.513 million (about $1.8 million) in post-IPO equity, anchored by a strategic investment from Gandel Metals. The package pairs a A$1 million placement with a A$1.6 million non-renounceable rights issue, both priced at A$0.004 per share.

What's Gandel getting? Gandel will subscribe for A$914,000 in the placement and a further A$86,000 in the rights issue. The placement was struck at a 33.33% premium to the market price — a notable vote of confidence.

The terms: The rights issue is offered to existing eligible holders on a 1-for-9.85 basis at the same A$0.004 price, with a 1-for-1 attaching unlisted option. The options carry a three-year term and are exercisable at A$0.006.

What's the endgame? Terrain will direct most of the funds into a 10,000m reverse-circulation drilling campaign at its Lightning gold prospect, part of the wider Smokebush project in WA's Mid West. Lightning holds a maiden resource of 54,000 ounces of gold, defined three months ago.

Why now? The infill and extensional drilling aims to upgrade the resource from inferred to the higher-confidence indicated category. Terrain is targeting an updated resource estimate in the first quarter of 2027.

What else is in the ground? Smokebush, in the Yalgoo Mineral Field 350km north of Perth, also hosts the Larins Lane gallium and rare earths prospect. Recent metallurgical studies, backed by the WA government, confirmed rare earth recoveries of up to 83% using a lower-impact acid leach.

Housekeeping: Terrain is also proposing a 14-for-1 consolidation of its securities after the rights issue, subject to holder approval, plus a clean-up of unmarketable parcels valued under A$500.

The signal: The premium placement signals confidence in Terrain's Mid West acreage, which sits beside Capricorn Metals'Dealroom has a profile for this one.
