The deal adds 33 employees to Insero, which currently employs around 160 professionals across 14 states. Terms were not disclosed.
Who is Cause + Effect? Founded in 2015 and also based in Rochester, the firm builds integrated systems spanning data architecture, engineering, analytics, and AI. It ranked No. 90 in AI and 2,450 overall on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
Why now? Insero is betting that AI and analytics have become core to advisory work. "Data, analytics, and AI are more important than ever thanks to advancements in technology," said chief executive officer Nancy Catarisano.
What's the endgame? The combination pairs Cause + Effect's technical capabilities with Insero's finance and accounting expertise. Catarisano said the fit "allows us to deliver a deeper, more effective view of how a business is doing, identify opportunities for improvement and then execute on the vision with our clients."
For Cause + Effect, the tie-up broadens its reach. President John Loury said joining Insero creates "an even stronger platform to help clients make better decisions, improve performance, and grow."
The signal: The deal reflects how traditional accounting and advisory firms are absorbing AI capabilities rather than building them from scratch. As Rallyday chief executive officer Ryan Heckman put it, "data/AI has emerged as an important service for companies of all sizes."
