Try Dealroom →, has agreed to merge Lincoln BancorpDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → into the company in a deal valued at roughly $123.8 million. Lincoln, the parent of Reinbeck, Iowa-based Lincoln Savings Bank, adds 16 locations to Equity's franchise.

The terms: Lincoln shareholders will receive about 77.5% of the consideration in EQBK stock and 22.5% in cash. The valuation is based on Equity's spot price of $49.85 on September 2, 2026. Both boards approved the deal unanimously.

What's the endgame? The merger builds on Equity's existing Iowa presence and gives it a platform to expand in the state. "This partnership marks an important step in our long-term strategy for Iowa," said Brad Elliott, Equity's chairman and chief executive officer.

What changes for customers? Rick Sems, president and chief executive officer of Equity Bank, said the combination adds scale while keeping "local decisions, local people who know their customers by name, and a long-term commitment to the community." Equity has contributed more than $1.7 million to causes across its markets this year.

Why now? Lincoln brings a 124-year history as a community bank in Iowa, and the deal expands Equity's reach in a state where it already operates. The merger is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Lincoln Savings Bank will then merge into Equity Bank.

The signal: The deal reflects continued consolidation among regional and community banks, as larger players buy scale and geographic reach to spread costs and compete for deposits.
