CDW buys Databricks partner Lovelytics to bolster AI and data services

Who's involved? Founded in 2017 and based in Arlington, Virginia, Lovelytics has grown to over 600 specialists across the US, Canada, Argentina, and Colombia. It works exclusively in data and AI across energy, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, financial services, and media.

What's the endgame? CDW wants to combine Lovelytics' Databricks expertise with its own scale and customer relationships. "There is no AI strategy without a data strategy," said Christine A. Leahy, chair and chief executive officer of CDW. "As our customers move from AI pilots to execution, that journey runs directly through their data."

What changes? Lovelytics adds specialized capabilities in modern cloud, data, and AI to CDW's Services & Solutions portfolio. Founder and chief executive officer Scott Love called joining CDW "the next chapter of that story," saying his team could help CDW's customers "move faster on data and AI."

The signal: The deal reflects how enterprise data readiness has become the gating factor for AI adoption. As Databricks president Andy Kofoid put it, "Companies that build the right data and AI foundation today will lead their industries tomorrow."
