DataHow extends Series A to push AI bioprocessing into real-time and downstream

Try Dealroom → has closed a bridge financing round extending its Series A, led by existing investor MomentaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with continued participation from Rockwell AutomationDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, HINA BioventuresDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Zürcher Kantonalbank. The capital will fund three priorities for its DataHowLab platform: real-time connectivity, model-driven process control, and expansion into downstream processing.

What's the endgame? DataHow builds AI-powered software for biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Its hybrid modelling combines prior process knowledge with data-driven AI to give engineers decision support while cutting experimental effort, time, and cost.

Why now? Since its Series A, DataHow has deployed the technology across many of the industry's largest manufacturers. Customers are asking it to bring the tools earlier — into real-time environments and downstream processing — and the round funds that response.

What's next? The company plans to connect DataHowLab directly to lab and production systems, building on work with OEM partners including Rockwell Automation. It aims to move from human-in-the-loop guidance toward fully model-driven process control, and to extend the platform from upstream to downstream processing.

"Our customers keep asking us to bring our technologies and methods further, earlier," said Dr. Alessandro Butté, chief executive officer and co-founder of DataHow. "This new funding lets us respond directly to that demand."

The signal: Investors are betting on a shift from automation to autonomy in industrial manufacturing. "The company's progress toward real-time, model-driven process control is exactly the kind of shift from automation to autonomy that we believe will define the next era of industrial manufacturing," said Ken Forster, executive director of Momenta.
