ALKU buys AI consultancy rockITdata to add solutions delivery to staffing

What's the deal? ALKUDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, one of the US's fastest-growing specialised staffing firms, has acquired rockITdataDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a technology consulting firm focused on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and data analytics. The Andover, Massachusetts company announced the deal on September 1, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? ALKU wants to move beyond supplying specialist consultants to owning entire projects. rockITdata brings hands-on technical delivery in AI, data, and federal health, letting ALKU offer clients end-to-end ownership at scale.

Why now? rockITdata says demand in its existing business is outpacing its access to talent. ALKU's reach into advanced AI and data engineering consultants gives it the people to meet that demand.

The acquisition also expands ALKU's Healthcare Information Technology (HCIT) capabilities and extends its reach into specialised federal health contracts.

What they're saying: "Combining their hands-on technical expertise and project leadership in AI, data, and federal health with ALKU's reach gives us the ability to offer a more complete solution," said Andrew Bull, chief executive officer of ALKU.

Daniel Thode, president of rockITdata, said the deal creates "a differentiated model for bringing specialized expertise to support technology transformation efforts across both existing and new markets."

The signal: Staffing firms are increasingly bundling talent with delivery as clients seek partners that can execute complex AI projects, not just fill roles. ALKU says it remains committed to its core staffing model — but pairing it with consulting reflects a broader push to capture more of each client relationship.
