Space-Eyes secures exclusive option to acquire Navy engineering firm KMS

KMS is an ISO 9001:2015-certified engineering firm providing cradle-to-grave lifecycle support for US Navy in-service and developmental systems.

Why now? Space-Eyes has spent years building an AI-driven platform to help customers detect and respond to complex threats. KMS brings decades of Navy engineering experience, mission knowledge, and acquisition-process expertise that Space-Eyes currently lacks.

What's the endgame? The combined organisation would pair Space-Eyes' software with KMS' recurring engineering and sustainment work. Together they aim to pursue opportunities across maritime awareness and force protection.

Chief executive officer and founder Capt. Jatin Bains said the deal would give Space-Eyes "experienced people who understand the Navy environment" and help identify where its technologies "may solve genuine mission problems."

KMS chief executive officer JP Heatherington framed the tie-up as combining complementary capabilities, stressing it "is not about circumventing established acquisition processes."

The signal: The option agreement reflects a wider push by defence-technology startups to pair emerging AI capabilities with the entrenched engineering credentials and customer relationships needed to win government contracts.
