Try Dealroom → has emerged from stealth with a $26 million seed round led by Accel, with participation from Conviction Investment PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and business angels. The August 2026 financing will support the company’s development of independent web-search and retrieval infrastructure for AI labs, inference providers and other large-scale AI applications.
What the company is building: Keenable says it has built an independent index of more than 100 billion documents and is designing search and retrieval systems for AI agents rather than for human users. Its platform includes a low-latency Search API, page-content retrieval and an MCP interface, with cloud and dedicated-capacity options for different usage levels. The company says its systems are already used in production by several AI labs and inference providers, although it has not publicly identified those customers.
Product direction: The company is also developing a point-in-time “Time Machine” capability for searching prior versions of the web and retrieving content from historical snapshots. A planned Web Query Language is intended to let AI systems combine information from multiple web sources when no single document contains a complete answer. In July 2026, Keenable announced a live-retrieval partnership with Gradium, a voice-AI company.
Team and market context: Keenable’s founding team includes former Yandex and Amazon search and AI infrastructure leaders. The company’s stated thesis is that agents need cheaper, lower-latency and more machine-oriented access to fresh web knowledge than traditional “ten blue links” interfaces and standard fetch APIs provide. It is competing in a developing market that also includes Brave and Exa, while major search platforms are changing or retiring parts of their standalone search-API offerings.
Use of capital: Keenable says it has a 15-person engineering team distributed across the United States and Europe and plans to double headcount by the end of 2026, while building its go-to-market operation. Its commercial model combines pay-as-you-go access for developers with dedicated capacity for AI labs and inference platforms.
