Kazimi raises €2.2M to catch bots in mobile marketing data

What's the deal? Berlin-based cybersecurity startup KazimiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €2.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round to secure and verify first-party data that app developers use for marketing analytics and AI. Market One CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led the round, with IBB VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and several industry executives joining.

Backers include Petri Hyökyranta (former Rovio chief technology officer), Janne PeltolaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (former Supercell data scientist), and Erik Massmann (former chief financial officer of Birkenstock GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Sportradar).

What's the endgame? Kazimi builds technology that helps developers tell genuine users from automated bots. Its system secures the signals an app generates, letting developers collect and verify first-party data while protecting user privacy.

It uses privacy-preserving cryptographic proofs to check interactions without exposing personal data. The company says this improves the accuracy of data used for analytics, marketing, and AI while supporting compliance with data protection rules.

Why now? Bot traffic is climbing. Cloudflare data indicates automated activity exceeded human activity on the internet in 2026, and AppsFlyer reports that bots remain a major source of mobile fraud.

"Until now it has been technically impossible for app developers to have true visibility on which signals originate from real users and which signals come from bots," said Andreas Naumann, co-founder and chief product officer. "We are closing the loop and enabling app developers to protect their most important resource — their first-party data."

Kazimi's founders previously worked on security and fraud detection at mobile measurement company Adjust, acquired by AppLovin in 2021. Current clients include mobile gaming studios, rewards platforms, and fintech apps.

The company will use the funding to scale its technology and expand across the global mobile advertising market.

The signal: Kazimi's pre-seed lands in the 35th percentile by amount — a modest cheque for a market where verifying real users is becoming a core problem as bots outpace humans online.
