What's the deal? Portuguese fund manager Horizon Equity PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired 80% of the capital of Geralseg and Vitelsis (ITELSIS)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, two companies in the technology and security sector. Law firm Antas da Cunha EcijaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → advised Horizon on the transaction.

Who does what? Geralseg and Vitelsis operate in security systems, telecommunications, and electrical installations. Through the deal, Horizon assumes control of both firms and, indirectly, of Vigerprev, alongside Geralseg Internacional.

The mechanics: Antas da Cunha Ecija's work covered due diligence on both target companies, preparation of the investment and shareholder agreements, and notification to the Autoridade da Concorrência (AdC). The team was led by Amílcar Silva, partner and coordinator of the Corporate and M&A practice.

Why now? Portugal's competition authority was notified of the concentration in June 2026 and cleared it on 22 July 2026.

What's the rationale? The deal strengthens Horizon's reach in specialised technical services, supporting two companies with complementary activities, according to the firm. Silva said the combination of the targets' experience with Horizon's investment capacity and know-how "represents a new stage" for the companies' development (translated from Portuguese).

The signal: The transaction points to continued private equity appetite for consolidating Portugal's fragmented technical-services market, where security systems, telecoms, and electrical installation businesses increasingly attract investor-backed buyers.
