"What impressed us most about Dukane was the combination of innovative products, capabilities, and a strong corporate culture," said Tom Cunningham, chief executive officer of the Crest Group.
Dukane chief executive officer Mike Johnston said the two sides share a common vision for the future of the business.
The signal: Private equity-backed industrial platforms continue to consolidate specialised manufacturing niches, betting that combining complementary technologies and global footprints will unlock scale. Stellex framed its role as applying an operationally focused value creation model to grow businesses like Dukane — a familiar playbook as buyout firms bolt smaller specialists onto larger platforms.
