Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures could gain from Stripe's $8B OpenRouter deal

The investor impact. Business Insider reports that Andreessen Horowitz owns more than 17% of OpenRouter and invested around $20 million, while Menlo Ventures owns more than 6% after investing less than $50 million. The potential payouts are close to $1.5 billion and more than $500 million respectively, based on the reported price.
The context. OpenRouter raised $113 million at a reported $1.3 billion valuation in May 2026. The reported Stripe transaction remains subject to completion.
