What does Diamond do? The company offers end-to-end capabilities including product ideation, R&D, manufacturing, filling, packaging, quality testing, and distribution. Its products span personal care, cosmetic, household, sanitizing, and healthcare end markets.

Why now? The acquisition marks River's second platform investment of 2026 and its seventh overall deal this year. River funded it with equity from its eighth fund, River VIII, which holds $345 million of committed capital.

What's the endgame? River and Diamond's management plan to pursue strategic add-on acquisitions targeting manufacturers of wipes, liquids, and other consumer and personal care products. "We look forward to partnering with management to build on that foundation and accelerate the Company's next chapter, both organically and through strategic acquisitions," said Ken Trent, principal at River Associates.

What management says: "River's experience partnering with growing lower middle market manufacturing businesses and its collaborative approach made the firm an excellent fit for our team," said Steve Gallo, chief executive officer of Diamond Wipes. The company has operated for more than three decades.

The signal: The deal underscores private equity's appetite for niche manufacturers in the lower middle market. River, founded in 1989, has completed more than 125 transactions, and its buy-and-build approach for Diamond points to continued consolidation in the contract manufacturing space.
