Trinity Biotech lands $7M from Perceptive, regains Nasdaq compliance
What's the deal? Trinity Biotech, the Dublin-based diagnostics company listed on Nasdaq, has secured a further $7 million from funds managed by Perceptive Advisors, its largest investor and primary lender. The financing comprises roughly $2.5 million of new debt and about $4.5 million of capitalised interest under an amendment to existing arrangements.
Why now? The investment lands alongside a second milestone: Trinity Biotech regained compliance with Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement. Its American Depositary Shares closed at $1.00 or above for 10 consecutive business days through August 6, 2026, and Nasdaq confirmed compliance the next day.
What's the endgame? The money supports Trinity's business transformation and two growth bets: its CGM+ continuous glucose monitoring platform, and TrinoviumDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a subsidiary developing liquid cooling for AI data centre infrastructure.
By the numbers: Preliminary revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 was roughly $10.5 million, broadly flat against the previous quarter, as the company finalises what it calls its operational transformation.
Chief executive officer John Gillard said the funding "reflects confidence in the strategic direction of the company," adding that Perceptive "has been a highly supportive investment partner throughout our transformation."
The signal: A lead investor doubling down while a company claws back onto Nasdaq's good side signals patience over pivots. Trinity is betting that diagnostics plus an unexpected side venture in AI data centre cooling can carry it through a repositioning that is now, in its words, in the latter stages.
