EQI Investimentos buys TradersClub (TC/Economatica) trading platform for R$3M

What it means. The purchase marks EQI's entry into the trading market, adding to its roots in investment advisory, wealth management and financial products. It gives the firm a community of thousands of traders, investors and market influencers built over recent years.

Why now? Economatica, formerly known as TC and publicly traded, signed a binding memorandum of understanding with EQI in July 2026, subject to closing conditions. Its regulatory filing flagged the R$3 million price, confirmed by the completed transaction.

What they're saying. "The arrival of the TC platform accelerates our strategy of offering an increasingly complete experience for investors who seek information and execution in a single environment," said Juliano Custódio, chief executive officer and founder of EQI Investimentos, in a statement translated from Portuguese.

The signal. Founded in 2008 in Santa Catarina, EQI was the first independent advisory office to win a Brazilian brokerage licence, rebuilding from scratch after moving from XP to BTG. It holds R$57 billion under custody and has 100,000 active clients, and expects to reach R$180 billion within five years — pairing content, community and execution in one place.
