What does it do? Evermin develops cost-effective CMOS and high-performance SiGe optoelectronic chips. Its product line spans 1.25G to 100G, covering laser drivers on the transmit side and transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) on the receive side.

Where it's used: The chips — including TIAs, CDRs, and laser driver components — serve broadband fibre access, data centres, telecoms, and 5G base stations.

Why now? Evermin plans to use the funds to move its 100G/200G Driver and TIA chipsets into volume production. It will also invest in next-generation LPO, LRO, and NPO technologies, plus advanced optoelectronic packaging.

The signal: Backing from state-linked groups and financial players points to strategic interest in domestic optical chips as demand for data-centre and 5G interconnects climbs.
